John Kass, What really goes on at Tribune Tower (via copyeditor)
Nah. Those bloggers in mommy’s basement posting under a cute pen name on the Internet are just the people who expose the “real” reporter’s work to an even wider audience (this is how Tumblr works, for those of you blogging along from the basement at home).
Curation is important, too. It’s not information overload, it’s filter failure. I never would have seen this quote from this article from the Chicago Tribune had it not shown up, cut and pasted on my Dashboard. While I appreciate the author’s frustration with people misinterpreting their work, I think it’s unwise to attack the distribution system that brings in more exposure.
