No matter how hard I try to justify myself, it will always, always be my fault. I just have to try to endure and think how it is to be in their shoes. And try to be patient and understanding. And try and repeat. And again.

I just like dresses, you know?
This morning, I got on the metro wearing one of my favorite dress to go to my internship, which I was running late for. As I got on a cabin, I got this look from a 40something-like Filipina lady sitting on the metro.
She looked at me, head to toe, from my bed-ridden hair to my red corporate-esque dress and half-sandals/half-boots shoes. And then she gave me that look. That look as if she thought...

Social media – helping revolutionary changes?

Tunisia’s new profound freedom has caused excitement, myself included. When their dictator, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali’s 23 year regime had been ousted, Tunisians are finally free to speak, debate and discuss. Opposing views are aired and shared. I wish I had a camera to take a...

I just wanted them to be proud, of the daughter who’s nowhere near to who they wanted. I am frightened of the future that when the lights go out all hell breaks loose there, i’ll curl and...

I felt the shaking. I looked down, my whole table and the floor was shaking.
In that millisecond, two thoughts came to my mind: whether if it was an actual earthquake and that we lived on the 5th floor on one of the busiest roads in the city, day or night.
Before I had a chance to stand up from my stool and wake everyone up, it stopped. And all was well again. Thank God.
Just like any other...

Not resolutions, but goals.
Happy new year! Hohoho, I guess I’m too late for that Christmas-esque and new year greet, but better late than never I always say.
As a tradition, I often try to reflect what happened during the past year but frankly, I’d rather not. Having just written the phrase ‘reflect what happened during the past year’ made me fast-forward-in-my-head-kind-of-thing reflect and sad to say, it’s quite...
